The most comprehensive and in-depth teaching program for the shoulder. Advance your knowledge, skills and clinical outcomes for shoulder pain, injury and performance.
Shoulder disorders present a distinct challenge to most clinicians.
I have spent the past 20 years in specialty MSK practice, focussing solely on shoulder disorders. My practice is very diverse, across a range of ages, injuries and athletic abilities.
Common shoulder disorders are seen at very high case numbers, demonstrating clear clinical patterns and diagnostic signs. Clinical protocols are created, tested and revised with these patient groups. Examples are cuff tear management, dislocations, separations, scapular dyskinesis and adhesive capsulitis.
As subject knowledge grows and multidisciplinary management increases, more complex problems present and more rare shoulder disorders are seen. This includes patient groups with PMR, EDS, FSHD, Stiff Person Syndrome, muscular dystrophies and rare MSK disorders (eg. synovial chrondromatosis).
After completing many two day shoulder courses in my starting days, I became aware of very selective or minimal diagnostics in these courses, multiple subjects overlooked, and simple treatments being offered that did not match clinical practice.
In my practice, MSK misdiagnosis is a leading cause of poor outcomes. Non-specific treatments are problematic, can exacerbate some conditions and lead to long term trial and error approaches. Better patient outcomes are built on sound diagnostics and treatment choices specific to the pathology, injury or movement disorder.
After teaching single, and then two level courses for several years across Canada, it has become clear to me that a more comprehensive approach is needed.
The following coursework has been designed to capture almost all problems seen in general and specialty MSK practice.
LEVEL I: FUNDAMENTALS & FRUSTRATIONS
LEVEL 2: THE UNSTABLE SHOULDER
LEVEL 3: THE ATHLETIC SHOULDER
LEVEL 4: THE COMPLEX SHOULDER
LEVEL 5: THE SPINE
Understanding, treating and solving shoulder disorders requires a comprehensive and in-depth series. For those of you who are looking for specific conditions and ideas, Levels 2 & 3 can be done in either order. I highly encourage any physiotherapist wanting to build their shoulder knowledge to consider completing the full series.
Class sizes are limited to 20 physiotherapists.
All courses are conducted over the weekend, with Cameron travelling and teaching at the locations listed. A must do for all physiotherapists before selecting your choice of Level II or Level III in either order.
